Voice Lessons

I am an Adjunct Lecturer in Voice at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, where I teach private voice to BFA Musical Theatre students. I also maintain a private voice studio in Los Angeles, working with musical theatre and classical singers.

My teaching is centered on science-informed vocal technique. I help each singer develop an understanding of how their voice functions so that we can build efficient, sustainable coordination tailored to the individual voice and the stylistic demands of the repertoire. Rather than applying one approach to every singer or style, I use principles of vocal function to develop technique that is healthy, versatile, and responsive.

Technical work may include developing head, chest, and mix coordination; balancing breath pressure and vocal fold resistance; exploring resonance strategies; and building a healthy, resonant belt without unnecessary compression. These skills are then applied to repertoire so that technique supports, rather than limits, musical and dramatic expression.

Alongside vocal technique, lessons incorporate diction, artistry, stylistic interpretation, performance practice, and audition preparation. Sessions are private and are best suited for teens and adults who are serious about developing their voices.

I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Arts Performance from USC and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from UCLA. My continued study of vocal pedagogy includes training through the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute, New York Vocal Coaching’s Voice Teacher Training program, and the Westminster Vocal Pedagogy Institute. I am also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Student Highlights

Students from my private studio have gone on to study Musical Theatre at USC and UCLA, and Vocal Performance at Chapman and Boston Universities. Current USC students have performed leading female roles in productions including Legally Blonde, Guys and Dolls, Alice by Heart, and have placed in the NATS Collegiate Auditions for Musical Theatre.
